We have a new deckhand ready to go for the upcoming blackfish season in a couple of weeks but, unfortunately, he is NOT be available this weekend so we will not be fishing. Sorry guys. OUR NEXT SCHEDULED TRIPS WILL BE SAT, NOV. 8 & SUN, NOV 9. SAILING 7:00 AM. SEE YOU THEN.
WE WILL BE FISHING EVERY DAY ONCE THE BLACKFISH SEASON OPENS ON NOV. 16 SAILING 7:00 AM DAILY!!!!!!!! WE HAVE POSTED VIDEO #10 ON OUR PICTURE PAGE.
A dense fog and no wind all day but actually had decent anchoring conditions after we tried drifting a couple of pieces. There are still decent numbers of seabass inshore but the majority of what the guys caught today were shorts. The dogfish were a nuisance today for the first time for the guys using soft baits. The guys using green crabs had the best blackfishing of the day on the last drop. Nelson Mendoza, Kinellon, took the pool with a tog. Light winds the next couple of days. SAILING 7:00 AM.
The guys that worked the green crabs this weekend had their blackfish and the guys using squid and/or clams found steady fishing on most drops with the seabass. Most of the seabass were small but the guys who worked hard managed half a dozen keepers for the coolers. We have not had any porgies at all on the inshore grounds the past couple of trips. WE ARE NOT FISHING MONDAY OR TUESDAY. SAILING 7:00 AM.
