The fishing was good once again today for the folks. We had a couple first-time toggers along as well and EVERYONE got to find out how much fun that blackfishing can be. Tina Corcoran, Montville, had quite a few nice fish, including the pool winner, on her very first outing today. There were a few seabass in the mix as well. SAILING 7:00 AM DAILY (WEATHER PERMITTING) We ARE NOT fishing Sunday with the forecast.
More great weather today! Good conditions once again and another all-day bite with everyone taking their legal fish and releasing plenty of other keepers to fight another time. A few seabass and a trigger fish also made the trip home. The guys using spinning rods with the blackfish jigs had constant action most of the day. Dave Brink, Middletown, took the pool. Saturday weather looks fine so come on down and enjoy some light tackle action. Green crabs and clams for bait. Back at it tomorrow. SAILING 7:00 AM DAILY (WEATHER PERMITTING). See you in the morning.
The guys and gals who fished with us could not have asked for a nicer day than today with light wind, a calm ocean and good fishing in short sleeves. Everyone, including the first-time toggers, had no problem getting their legal fish and releasing a bunch more to fight another day. A few seabass were caught on the green crabs but the dogfish are still a nuisance for those who tried soft baits. Mike Naipawer, Bloomingdale, took the pool. Back at it tomorrow. SAILING 7:00 AM. See you in the morning.
Another day with light winds made for comfortable fishing once again. The dogfish were a nuisance again today right from the start with the soft baits. Today's crew wasted no time switching to crab baits and enjoyed fine blackfish action for the rest of the day. Everyone kept their legal fish and released a bunch of others for another day. Dave Brink, Middletown, was on fire and had constant action using blackfish jigs and also had the pool fish. We will NOT be sailing tomorrow (Monday) with the forecast. SAILING 7:00 AM DAILY (WEATHER PERMITTING). Click "Read more" for additional pictures.
